Hi all,
This is my first Vista os problem.
I've previously used Winxp os on my older laptop and have found 'system restore' very easy and user friendly.

I've been trying to 'create an earlier system restore point' on my vista home basic laptop without success--I was disappointed to find that the method/procedure is a lot different to winxp[e.g calenders with clearly marked restore points].

However, after several attempts at restoring to earlier dates and times I get the message that my computer has been restored to; not the earlier time selected but the current date and time[the day of carrying out system restore.

I must be doing something wrong here despite the fact I'm not getting any error messages to the contrary.

Hope someone can advise me on this.
Thanks.
