when i start or shut down my pc the screen doesn't turn on until it boots up to the logon screen. and when i hit shut down and it logs off and prepares to shut down the monitor turns off again. my graphics card is a ati radeon 9600.
Any help? :tazz:

Strange it is, this problem you have Obi-Wan...

I've actually had a friend who had a similar problem and his problem originated from using the DVI of his graphicscard, because the MoBo didn't initialize the DVI, only the driver in windows did.

A few other things to try;

Check all your cables.
Try not using DVI (if you do use it) but the normal vga connector.
Try it with another monitor.
Check your bios settings.

Try flashing you’re MoBo bios and your Graphicscard bios to their latest versions.
Do this at your own risk and don't try it if your computer knowledge is limited, then ask someone else.

Doby the [bleep] grafx card was not booting through cmos or the bios or whatever the [bleep], but windows was still initializing it. Im guessing he is one of these video game junkies like me that has like 3 graphix cards in his comp and never knows which one he is using lol.
I run dual 6600 gt's and for 2d games my Voodoo 5 (Best 2d quality bar none) of course.
