Looked around all over it and cannot find the about button, or anything remotely similar! hehe, but I imagine it is up to date?

Any other ideas as to what to do next?

It is a rather new system, about 1 1/2 years or so. I looked around to see if I could find the exact date, I know it is there somewhere hehe, but buried who knows where....

On my old Laptop and my newer Desktop running XP - Commercial DVDS run fine, Homemade ones too, both DVD and CDR. Movie DVDs work as well.

On this system only Commerical Computer Discs work. Not Movies or Homemade discs (same discs in both instances).

OK we might finally be getting someplace.
Copyright issues may be the problem.
What file format are the non commercial dvd's?

OK autorun usually won't work then. If you explore the disks can you bring the files up then and access them?
As far as the photos I believe Win7 has the capability to run a slide show of the photos if that is all that is on the disk or you are looking at one folder worth of photo's

No the discs that are homemade come up as blank media. All I get is if I want to write to them, of course this does not work either.
I cannot see anything with explorer except the write to disc (desktop) or the list of files waiting to be written to disc, in my case none...just desktop.

Here is a capture of what I see when I look at a homemade disc, I have looked at this disc on two different computers, it is a 4.2 gig DVD full of files...just a plain olde data disc.
