I've given it a few days, and as far as I can tell, the problems have gone away. There have been no more artifacts, and everything seems to be running fine. Infact, in-game performance is at an all-time high, even with a new 1080p monitor.
I tried it with the onboard, and the flashes still appeared, but only on Google Chrome.
Now, as far as I can tell, it's completely fixed.

Perhaps it was a driver problem, and I just didn't take enough time to notice the difference?

Could have been a driver issue. Changing to the onboard will in most cases cause artifacts since it would still be trying to use the add on card graphics drivers.
