Gurus,
I have a home built computer and the motherboard went bad. It is a DFI mobo LanParty Pro 875B socket 478. When I set it up I used two Western Digital 80 gig hard drives set up in stripping RAID configuration (HPT37x RAID 0 Array SCSI Disk Device -- drive 0). These are connected to the mobo with IDE cables. I have tons of pictures on these hard drives that I don't want to loose. The problem is I can't find a replacement DFI motherboard with RAID IDE connections. Is there a motherboard on the market other than DFI with RAID IDE connectors that I can instal my hard drives, and other hardware off this computer on?
I have a 2.8 Megahertz Pentium 4 CPU, 800 front side bus. 2 Gigs (2x1GB) Corsair (XMS Series) RAM PC3200. NVIDIA GeForce F5200 graphics card.

My first choice would be to find another motherboard like this for replacement. Second choice would be a motherboard that would accept my hard drives in this RAID configuration and other hardware form this motherboard. I have checked the usual places like ebay and found one board but I don't trust the seller.
Thanks in advance for your help. Gary

Thanks IAMMYKYL,
It's a start. I have found lots of socket 478 boards. The fly in the ointment is the IDE RAID. I need to connect both hard drives with IDE cables. I'm trying to use the same hardware I have in the system now. I can't seem to figure out what board is most like my DFI motherboard and if they take the same hardware. The Gigabyte GA-8 PE667 Ultra REV 1.0 seems to be a good fit but I don't understand enough of the verbiage to make a good comparison.

Could you or some other computer savvy person make a comparison and advise please. Your help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Gary

Here is one.

If all else fails, you might try just to retrieve your date. Possible use a PCI card controller installed on a loaned computer.

Thanks IAMMYKYL,
Looked at that web site ( http://www.pantipmar.../items/11755346) but it's in a foreign language. It's exactly the same motherboard I have. Wish I could buy it. I think it's for sale but I can't read the site. HELP!

Your link Post #5 gets a Google OOOPS. Use the link in Post #4, I used Google, then right click, then translate this page to English.
Site is in Thailand. Board is used, 3 years old, price is $27.00 AUD.

Thanks IAMMYKYL,
The board that showed up was already sold. I could put a PCI card in another computer to get the pics, music, etc off. It seemed a temporary solution at best. I'm still trying to find a board that will take the hardware from my LanParty even without IDE RAID. If I can find one
I will get a PCI card for the IDE RAID.
I would like to thank you for your help. I do appreciate you spending your time to assist me. Thanks again.

Sorry not able to actually find a card.
Something else to try, maybe be out there though. Put the drive in a external encloser, connect to a borrowed PC and see if it is recognized.

Let us know if you do solve the problem.

The problem is the hard drives are set up in a RAID 0 configuration. I was not necessarily looking for an exact matching board to replace my board. I was looking for a motherboard that has the same RAID and would accept the RAM, CPU, Graphics card, Etc. that are in the board that crashed. It would have to have two IDE RAID plug ins and still have IDE ports for the DVD/CDR drives. Also a port for a floppy drive.
The IDE PCI controller card is still an option.

Thanks for all help. Old Timer

I think, these 2 boards are almost identical to the LAN Party.

Thanks for all your help IAMMYKYL.
I've decided on the GA-8S655FX Ultra. Has the IDE RAID on board. Not as many USB connectors on the back but I can add a card. I really appreciate your time, Thanks again.
