Geek Genius Needed!

I'm having the same problem for the same reason. Can't even open my system file to get the system restore. Error: "This file does not have a program associated with it for performing this action. Create an association in the Folder Options contreol panel." comes up on most programs exceptr for my browers...weird.

Help!

Interesting, it would seem to me that if you bought the Operating System you have running, that you should have a System Restore Disk that you can load. I have no idea on how to fix that, so wait on a more intelligent G2G staff member.

Let us take a closer look at what is running on your PC. We'll need you to use a free diagnostic tool (HiJackThis) and post a log back here with the results.

Click the HijackThis Guide in my signature, download it and follow the instructions in the guide.

Most of what it lists will be harmless or even essential, DO NOT delete or modify anything yet! Someone will be along to tell you what steps to take after you post the contents of the scan results.

I am expierience the same problem. Everytime i click on a program i get that same file association message. I can get around that though, by right clicking and clicking of "run as..." and it brings the program up.
