I can't open the PDF files saved in my Documents folder. Also can't open any PDF files coming through E-Mails or on the Web. Receive an error message "unable to open a temporary file".

Acrobat Reader is installed in the Applications folder.

Also having difficulty opening any previous Word files in my Documents folder or creating any new ones. Keep receiving a file permission error..."another user is using this file, do you want to make a copy"?

I am not on an Office Network. Operating system MacOs 8.6.

The two issues appear to be connected. Any assistance is appreciated!
