I have not touched this computer in about a year as it would crash repeatedly. I finally pulled it out and am able to get a few things done but programs crash often, even task manager will give me not responding and the blue screen of death pops up. Please anything you can do to help would be great. If you need any more information, please let me know. Thanks in advance for all that you do!

OK more than one way to skin a cat

This programme will do a deep virus scan - however, if you do not have the time let the scan run for about 30 minutes to cover the main areas and then stop the scan and jump to the analysis portion

Download AVPTool from Here to your desktop

Run the programme you have just downloaded to your desktop (it will be randomly named )

First we will run a virus scan

Click the cog in the upper right



Select down to and including your main drive, once done select the Automatic scan tab and press Start Scan


Allow AVP to delete all infections found
Once it has finished select report tab (last tab)
Select Detected threats report from the left and press Save button
Save it to your desktop and attach to your next post


Now the Analysis

Rerun AVP and select the Manual Disinfection tab and press Start Gathering System Information



On completion click the link to locate the zip file to upload and attach to your next post

It's 2:43:08 in and is 3% done, it's telling me it will be done in 3 days. Now I don't have an issue with that but will that hurt the computer or are we missing something?

This programme takes the files apart to check them out - but once you have gone past the system files you can then stop the scan and jump to the analysis portion

Wasn't able to get through everything on the scan I don't believe. I was at 11% last time I saw the scan.
