I did some reading and forums pointed to some kind of Malware. We have Mcafee running on the machine normally, but it would not run. I managed to get a copy of Super Anti-Spyware on the machine and it found 19threats. I removed those. The icon's and task bar returned, but our wireless was not working and we started to get the message "multicard reader can not start, resources not enough".
I tried running MalwareBytes and Mcafee again and they would not run. I saw in a forum that someone had a similar problem and had changed one of the RpcSz's. I tried that but no change. I tried un-installing and re-installing the wireless adapter. The machine would not let me re-install the drivers.
As I said I read the guide here and ran rkill through a flash stick. After that I was still unable to run Malwarebytes.
At this point it will start in the "last known good configuration mode". It will not allow Malwarebytes or Mcafee to run, when I try Malwarebytes it reports a "runtime error 372". It will not allow a copy paste, there is no driver for the wireless and it will not allow me to install one. It seems to run slowly. at the start it gives the "resources not enough message". The free version of Super AntiSpyware is no longer finding any threats. Rkill is not reporting to have stopped any processes.
I will be near this computer for about 24 hours then traveling.
thanks for nay help!
