i have a gateway E-2000 1.8 mhz im trying to oc it to a 2.0 but that part of the BIOS is lockd i cant change it . is theyr a way to unlock it??

I would say no.

I have seen a few "store bought" PC's that overclocked only because they had a motherboard that was supported by Clockgen (Windows based overclocking program)

Yep, I'm also going to recommend trying out programs like CPUcool, CPUFSB and SoftFSB. I think you can download them online, but check around to see which program(s) will work best with Gateway.
