hardrive crash

my pc crashed and my pc refuses to acknowledge the hardrive. i can't lose the data on it. help please. i'm also pc illeterate
it was running on windows xp pro when it crashed.

To attempt securing your data try http://www.geekstogo...over-your-data/ another 2 options are placing the HDD in either an external USB HDD enclosure or a second PC as a Slave Drive, you will however need to provide the details of the actual computer laptop or desktop, custom built or brand name such as Dell, HP etc, if it is also provide the model name or number (not serial).
