Are there any programs you would recommend if I wanted to make a complete image of the drive?

Thanks again for all your help with this.

If the drive you buy is Seagate use this
http://www.seagate.c...oads/discwizard

If the drive you buy is Western Digitial use this

http://support.wdc.c...il.asp?swid=119

If the drive is neither of those, you would have to explore the manufacturers site for that drive or use one of the free imaging software available

Thank you for the links, I will most likely need to copy it to an external HD until I can get a new hard drive for the laptop.

I know I have said it before but thank you again for all your help with this :)

I'm trying to use the CD I made from Artellos to repair xp. However, after I'm prompted to hit "enter" in the Windows XP Setup, A prompt states that it can not find the EULA and forces me to restart. Any ideas here? I'm running this to resolve an issue in thread http://www.geekstogo...sh/page__st__15

It's because it's just the Recovery Console (you have to hit r instead of Enter). You can't go further with what Artellos provided.

WIth the Recovery Console, you can do chkdsk and such, but you can't do the repair install.
