Hello,

Really hope someone can help me?

I got my windows Vista 4 years ago and it was sooooooooo fast at first, never crashed etc...
It is a PC, acer aspire.

Now it keeps freezing and I have noticed the red light on the tower goes a still red and sometimes if I wait a few mins it starts again and the red light goes away. Sometimes it will crash and then when I turn it back on the tower beeps. I have to wait for like 20 mins before it will turn on again. I have taken it to a PC shop and they said there was nothing wrong with it!! It is generally so so so so so slow!! I have run anti virus spybot and tired norton, have defragged, disk cleaned...nothing so far has made any differece. It so annoying and can take forever just to do a simple thing, like load a webpage etc??

PLease help?

Thanks!!

Hello and :)
Download CCLEANER the link below:

http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner

Just DONT us the registry cleaner function of CCleaner unless you know what you are deleting exactly!!

Then open ccleaner hit the tools button then startup second one down below uninstall then in the bottom right hand corner of ccleaner hit save to text file.Save it to your desktop and post the startup.txt here in your next reply. Also hit start run then type msconfig then hit the services tab then hit put a check mark in hide microsoft services what is listed there, after hiding microsoft services? Also post to me the uninstall list from ccleaner please.

I have to wait for like 20 mins before it will turn on again.

That sounds like heat and/or power problems. Drivers would not make you wait to be able to turn the unit on as drivers are not loaded until past the POST and well into the OS boot process.

I would make sure the system if free of heat trapping dust and that all your fans are turning freely. And if me, I would swap in a known good power supply to make sure the rest of the computer was getting good, clean power.

That said, if you just recently brought it back from the shop, and you paid money for them to check it out, I would take it back and let them know it is still doing it, and that you are unhappy you paid good money for nothing.

Yeahh they said the cleaned out all the dust in the PC. I do notice when it freezes that the noise from the tower totally stops. The starts again when it unfreezes.

I would swap in a known good power supply to make sure the rest of the computer was getting good, clean power.

What do you mean? You mean use a different extention lead for the tower to the wall?

I see nothing that should be slowing you down if you uninstall spybot that will get rid of the only unnecessary service
I suggest you start a topic here http://www.geekstogo...alware-removal/
You can try scans with malwarebytes and superantispyware thats all i know to tell you its either hardware or malware issue.
