Please download JavaRa from the link in my signature below to your desktop and unzip it to its own folder
  • * Run JavaRa.exe, pick the language of your choice and click Select. Then click Remove Older Versions.
    * Accept any prompts.
    * Open JavaRa.exe again and select Search For Updates.
    * Select Update Using Sun Java's Website then click Search and click on the Open Webpage button.
  • Download and install the latest Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version for your computer.

What OS do you have installed?
XP, Vista or Win7

Is it the 32 or 64 bit version?

I also am quoting from another Tech below.

I would open regedit and see if the following key is present: HKLM\Software\JavaSoft\Java Runtime Environment
If it is, delete it.

Retry the install. If you still have an issue with the same message, then download and install the Windows Installer Cleanup Utility. Once installed, find the program on your start menu and run it. Find and remove any Java Runtime listings you find. Verify one more time that the above mentioned registry key is still no longer present then try the installation again. As far as the problem referred to in this thread that should resolve the issue.

OK go back to post 5 and get the other file under the one I highlighted. You need the 64 bit version and not the 32 bit version.
