Hi there wetnoodlesf.

Please print out these instructions so that you can refer to them later as some of this fix is performed in safe mode where you will have no internet access. Please note that the file shareing applications that you have installed are a major source of infection. They will be removed as part of the fix, but when your PC is clean, I will give you links to safe alternative applications.
As this fix is quite complex, you may also find it usefull to cross off the steps on the hard copy as you complete them

Step 1

First, get rid of NewDotNet. Go to Control Panel:Add/Remove Programs and remove it. If it is not there, go here and follow Procedure 4: http://www.newdotnet.com
Also remove these programmes if found in Control Panel

LimeWire
BearShare
K-LiteGold
QuickSearch

Step 2

1. Please download LSPFix from here.
2. Run the LSPFix.exe that you have just finished downloading.
3. Check the I know what I'm doing box.
4. In the Keep box you should see one or more instances of newdotnet6_38.dll.
5. Select every instance of newdotnet6_38.dll and move each one to the Remove box by clicking the >> button.
6. When you are done click Finish>>.

Step 3

Next, we need to remove the pepper trojan. Download this file, run, and let terminate (it'll just blink briefly on your screen and won't appeared to have done much--this is normal):
http://www.geekstogo...=download&id=18

Step 4

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here:

http://www.ewido.net/en/download/

Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet.

Step 5

Please download Nailfix from here:

http://users.pandora...chy/nailfix.zip

Unzip it to the desktop but please do NOT run it yet.

Step 6

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

For additional help in booting into Safe Mode, see the following site:

http://www.pchell.co.../safemode.shtml

Step 7

Once in Safe Mode, please double-click on Nailfix.bat. Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly --- this is normal.

Step 8

Then, still in safe Mode, please run Ewido, and run a full scan, fixing anything it finds. Post the log from the scan here for me at step 11.

Step 9

Stay in safe mode and re-open HiJackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below if present.

R1 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Default_Search_URL = http://red.clientapp...//www.yahoo.com
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing
F2 - REG:system.ini: Shell=Explorer.exe C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe

O23 - Service: System Startup Service (SvcProc) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\svcproc.exe

Now close all windows other than HiJackThis, then click "Fix Checked".

Step 10

Please delete these folders using Windows Explorer(if present):

c:\program files\newdotnet
C:\Program Files\LimeWire\LimeWire.exe
C:\Program Files\BearShare\BearShare.exe
C:\Program Files\K-LiteGold
C:\Program Files\QuickSearch

Please delete these files using Windows Explorer(if present):

C:\WINDOWS\Nail.exe
c:\documents and settings\newuser\local settings\temp\C.exe
C:\WINDOWS\System32\icwvcr.exe
C:\WINDOWS\svcproc.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\lflmbg3o.exe
c:\windows\system32\xOYd.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\Mat092CR.exe
c:\windows\system32\mxctzbi.exe

After that, Reboot in Normal Mode.

Step 11

Please rescan using HJT and post your new HJT and EWIDO logs here so we can see whether your system is now clean.

I hope that this has been of some help to you.
