I just did a repair install of XP Home Edition SP2, but it didn't help. The computer keeps giving me "This system has recovered from a serious error" message whenever I restart (see images below).

There is also a problem with the colour. The colours are fine before the log-in screen (the XP logo during loading is fine) but after the log-in screen they are messed up (see image below). I clicked a pop-up bubble form the system tray asking me to fix the colour and resolution, but it didn't do anything.

Any help is appreciated! :D

You need to install any needed drivers. Look in Device Manager for any yellow marks. Those are the ones you need to install, either from a CD if you have one or download and install from the manufacturers web site if not.

To get to Device Manager, click Start then Run, type devmgmt.msc and press Enter or click GO.
