NO, it is OK to use a differer or new TIM.

It is in the guides but will nag you.

Always unplug from the mains when working on the computer and take anti static measures even when handling part not attached to the PC.
Don't rush, be methodical.
Change the I/O shield installed in the case for the one supplied with the Mobo.
Check and CHECK again that the stand offs screwed to the Mobo mounting plate match exactly the pattern of the screw holes in the Mobo, the exact number, NO extra ones.

Any problems, we are here.

sorry it took so long to write back, i thought you stopped answering, but it was just on the next page
im currenty reading the pages you guys linked me and learning me some knowledge
im ready to buy it if there is nothing else i will need

the benchmarks will not be so good when i get my computer, because i dont plan to benchmark just yet.
i will post them as soon as possible though.
when i get the money for a awesome power supply, i will come back and ask you guys more questions about overclocking.
i dont think there is much i can do with a 500w power supply so im gunna leave it stock for now.
(unless you think otherwise)

EDIT: after reading up on selecting TIM, im not sure what one to pick.
im most likely going to go with arctic silver because they say it will be better over time and i dont think i will be changing these parts any time soon.
(also i had to edit because it just didnt feel right to not edit this later )

Arctic Silver is very good and easy to use. Just remember, once you have put the 2 part together, don"t be tempted (being maybe uncertain) to pull them apart to see how the gunk has spread.
It was the right time to edit.

im back!
so the build was super easy
the only problem i ran into was my optical drive
my old one i was going to use was ide not sata
i just got a new one today and everything is installed and running

i ran passmarks performancetest 7.0 and got a score of 1823.9
sorry it took so long...
do you have any other benchmarks i can run

Very good score, seen worst from systems costing twice as much as yours.

Unless you have problems, benchmarking is mostly for interest, and bragging rights, so if yourcomputer performs well for the tasks you set, it should not be the all of your day.

so i ran 3d mark 11 basic and i wasnt too happy with the results
im not sure whats the norm or if its good, but i assumed its because i haven't overclocked at all

its strange because i got 20 fps (more or less) on here
when i was playing team fortress 2 i was getting 300 fps on nearly max settings
i know its not the hardest game to run...

im still happy with my purchase, but i am thinking about what to do to improve this
im not looking forward to buying a new heatsink,video card, and power supply.
i know thats gunna cost quite a bit, but when i do i will come here askin for input again

You do not need a new heat-sink and fan, your system is not overheating.
You do not need a new graphics card, Your graphics card will play most games at near max settings. If your games are running smoothly without problems, you must be getting better frame rates than reported when benchmarking.
As discussed in earlier posts, your PSU is the min recommended 500w and would be best replaced later for a 600w/650w especially if you decide to over-clock.

It looks to me as though you discrete GPU is not included when benchmarked, only the integrated one. Have you updated all the Windows7 drivers?

Make sure your monitor is connected to the GPU outlet and not to the Mobo outlet.
When benchmarking, disconnect from the Internet, and close all background running programs, Before uploading the score, save your results and restart the PC
