I have an older computer that I added memory to and it use to run fairly well. But it's extremely slow now. I've scanned for malware with Malwarebytes and Avast dozens of times and it comes up clean. I've done disc clean up and no help. I've defraged and no help. I checked what programs are opening at startup and they're all abbreviated. I'm a novice and I have no idea what they stand for. I'm afraid if I delete or uncheck them all I could do some serious damge. Can someone help?

Thanks,
Moe

Go to Start then to Run
Type in compmgmt.msc and click Enter
On left side click on Disk Management
On right side you will see you hard drive.
Now I need you to take a screenshot and attach it to your next reply. Do the following to take a screenshot while the above is open and showing on your desktop.

To do a screenshot please have click on your Print Screen on your keyboard. It is normally the key above your number pad between the F12 key and the Scroll Lock key
Now go to Start and then to All Programs
Scroll to Accessories and then click on Paint
In the Empty White Area click and hold the CTRL key and then click the V
Go to the File option at the top and click on Save as
Save as file type JPEG and save it to your Desktop

Attach it to your next reply

The third time is the charm, I guess it would help if it was full screen, sorry about that.

Download Autoruns from the link in my signature below:

1: Extract the Autoruns Zip file contents to a folder.
2: Double-click the "Autoruns.exe".
3: Click on the "Everything" tab
4: Remove any entries that mention "File Not Found" by right-clicking the entry and select Delete.
5: Go to File then to Export As or Save in some versions.
6: Save AutoRuns.txt file to known location like your Desktop.
7: Attach to your next reply.

I don't see your signature or a link to download autoruns.

Got it. But now I'm kind of lost. I've attached what came up when I downloaded autorun from your link. What do I do now?

OK I think I did it right. There was 1 file that would not let me delete it. I got an error msg saying: The specified service does not exist as an installed service. Also, I saved the autorun file to my desktop but it won't let me attach it to this msg. It says I'm not permitted to upload this kind of file?

Did you save it as a txt file type and not as the default png I think?
It won't attach if it is not a txt file.

I think I'm missing a step, after I download autorun and I try to open the file I get a msg to extract all the files, I click "extract all" and the Extraction Wizard opens and I have to pick a location, so I pick desk top, it saves it to desktop and when I opened it I was allowed to delete the files you mentioned but I had no option as far as saving it as a text file.

Steps 6, 7 and 8 do not exist on your Autoruns program?
