Remote Assistance not working

I keep getting messenger notes when im logged off msn, so I found this little thing on the net on how to delete windows messenger

" RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\inf\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove "

I put this into the run tab, then hit " ok "

Now..... I can't contect to another persons computer using remote assistiance. I get as far as pressing the take control tab...but on the other end, they only have a chat type window that comes up, not the usual accept button. Any ideas what might have happened??
