Hello and I hope someone can help here,

I have not been able to update 3 Windows updates since about March this year. Have tried everything that I can find on Microsoft and forums and nothing changes. Other ipdates go through fine but these three just keep coming up and then fail.

The only thing I haven't done, because I can't is use the Windows Disc. We bought our machines from Emachines and that had Windows installed already. They gave us discs named Recovery, drivers and so on and so on. None of which I know how to use as when I open them they are full of various applications etc. But I have no idea which one is the one or ones to use.

Truly has driven me crazy. Tools from Microsoft have been downloaded, installed and the message given is "Problem fixed". But it never is, regardless of what I use.

The other is a small question. My daughter installed BearShare on my PC and she downloaded about 12 songs. Trouble is I can't find them anywhere but a small icon will play them. Where do I find these files so I can delete them please. And no, she's not a kid, nearly 18 but doesn't understand what the problem is with downloading songs.

We need to know what updates can not be installed.
Also what is the OS? are you on SP3?

As to the location of the songs, the default for IE is in the download folder in "my documents". If you know a song title you can do a search of the hard drive.

Info on Bearshare:

Together they show a total size of 547.8 megs.

They have been attempted so many times I cannot count, since March this year. other updates have gone through fine since then, including recently.

OS is Windows7, Home Premium.

Have just read the update history and SP3 does not show at all. But we may have bought these PC's after it was installed. Don't know how to check that.

But I did see that the first listed update above was shown as "succesful" very early on. Exactly the same description yet Windows Update keeps dragging it up as to be installed and then fails.

As to Bearshare, I am desperate to get rid of it. She downloaded 13 songs but I can find only 3 where you suggested to look. They all show in the Bearshare winodw/player/downloader app.

Yes I know about the problem of illegality, which is exactly why I am trying to find these songs to ensure all is gone.

Thanks again.
