Hi Murderah, sorry for the delay in a reply to your log.

Please download the trial version of Ewido Security Suite here:
http://www.ewido.net/en/download/
Install it, and update the definitions to the newest files. Do NOT run a scan yet.

Please download Nailfix from here:
http://www.noidea.us...050515010747824
Unzip it to the desktop but please do NOT run it yet.

Next, please reboot your computer in Safe Mode by doing the following:
1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

For additional help in booting into Safe Mode, see the following site:
http://www.pchell.co.../safemode.shtml

Once in Safe Mode, please double-click on Nailfix.cmd. Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly --- this is normal.

Then please run Ewido, and run a full scan. Save the logfile from the scan.

Next please run HijackThis, click Scan, and check:

R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {02EE5B04-F144-47BB-83FB-A60BD91B74A9} - C:\Program Files\SurfSideKick 3\SskBho.dll (file missing)
O16 - DPF: {14A3221B-1678-1982-A355-7263B1281987} - ms-its:mhtml:file://C:\foo.mht!http://82.179.170.82....chm::/file.exe
O16 - DPF: {56336BCB-3D8A-11D6-A00B-0050DA18DE71} (RdxIE Class) - http://software-dl.r...ip/RdxIE601.cab

Close all open windows except for HijackThis and click Fix Checked.

Restart your computer in normal mode and please post a new HijackThis log, as well as the log from the Ewido scan.

Hi Murderah
You may wish to print out a copy of these instructions to follow while you complete this procedure.

First,
Please download "Del Domain" from here

Download it to your desktop or somewhere you will find it. Extract the .inf file from the .zip file you just downloaded. Now right click "Deldomains.inf" and click "Install". It will not appear to have done anything, thats ok.

Second,
Please re-open HiJackThis and scan. Check the boxes
next to all the entries listed below.

O2 - BHO: WHttpHelper Class - {9896231A-C487-43A5-8369-6EC9B0A96CC0} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\WStart.dll (file missing)
O2 - BHO: WinStat - {F007E221-018D-4baf-924A-B0E9092F3853} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\WinStat11.dll
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [ViewMgr] C:\Program Files\Viewpoint\Viewpoint Manager\ViewMgr.exe
O16 - DPF: NDWCab - http://www.neededware.com/ndw2.cab

Now close all windows other than
HiJackThis
, then click Fix Checked. Reboot into
safe mode.

Restart your computer and as soon as it starts booting
up again continuously tap F8. A menu should come up
where you will be given the option to enter Safe Mode.

Please remove these entries from Add/Remove
Programs
in the Control Panel(if present):

Viewpoint

Please note any other programs that
you dont recognize in that list in your next
response

Please delete these folders using Windows
Explorer(if present):

C:\Program Files\Viewpoint

Please delete these files using Windows
Explorer(if present):

C:\WINDOWS\System32\WinStat11.dll
C:\WINDOWS\System32\WStart.dll

After that, Reboot and please post a new HijackThis log.

Ok, I did everything. I noticed Viewpoint Manager and Viewpoint Media Player in my add/remove programs list and deleted both. I also noticed "Microsoft XML Parser and SDK", I dont know what that is so I left it there because it might not be a bad thing. C:\Program Files\Viewpoint was not there, C:\WINDOWS\System32\WinStat11.dll was not there but there was WinStat11.dat instead, I was not sure about that so I left it there. C:\WINDOWS\System32\WStart.dll was not there as well. Here is the new HiJackThis log.

Murderah,

Please Delete the C:\WINDOWS\System32\WinStat11.dat in safe mode. Then post back to let me know if you were able to delete it and how your computer is running now.

Also, post a new HijackThis log in your next reply.

You can go ahead and delete the poker icon, and empty the recycle bin after you delete it. If you have trouble deleting it post back and let me know.

Congratulations! Your system is CLEAN :tazz:

The following is a list of tools and utilities that I like to suggest to people. This list is full of great tools and utilities to help you understand how you got infected and how to keep from getting infected again.
  • Spybot Search & Destroy - Uber powerful tool which can search and annhilate nasties that make it onto your system. Now with an Immunize section that will help prevent future infections.
  • AdAware - Another very powerful tool which searches and kills nasties that infect your system. AdAware and Spybot Search & Destroy compliment each other very well.
  • SpywareBlaster - Great prevention tool to keep nasties from installing on your system.
  • SpywareGuard - Works as a Spyware "Shield" to protect your computer from getting malware in the first place.
  • IE-SpyAd - puts over 5000 sites in your restricted zone so you'll be protected when you visit innocent-looking sites that aren't actually innocent at all.
  • CleanUP! - Cleans temporary files from IE and Windows, empties the recycle bin and more. Great tool to help speed up your computer and knock out those nasties that like to reside in the temp folders.
  • Windows Updates - It is very important to make sure that both Internet Explorer and Windows are kept current with the latest critical security patches from Microsoft. To do this just start Internet Explorer and select Tools > Windows Update, and follow the online instructions from there.
  • Google Toolbar - Free google toolbar that allows you to use the powerful Google search engine from the bar, but also blocks pop up windows.
  • Trillian or Miranda-IM - These are Malware free Instant Messenger programs which allow you to connect to multiple IM services in one program! (AOL, Yahoo, ICQ, IRC, MSN)
To find out more information about how you got infected in the first place and some great guidelines to follow to prevent future infections you can read this article by Tony Klein

Thanks a lot!
I deleted the Party Poker icon just fine. I already use a few of those programs and I am going to get the rest of them now. Also, is the ewido secruity suite I downloaded a trial version or the full? I was just wondering if I should just uninstall it now or keep it because its a good virus scanner but if its a trial version I might as well remove it.

You're welcome, glad to help ;)

Yes, Ewido is a trial version, but after the trial the scanner doesn't change. So it wouldn't hurt to keep it if you want to. :tazz:
