So I am a complete moron here.... Windows Xp acquired a few problems and I decided to Install Ubuntu Linux to fix them.. I didn't dual boot, and My XP was erased.. I have read from HP that Recovery disks can be made from the command prompt, but pressing F10 repeatedly at Boot didn't get me there... Recovery disks are no longer available for my model Dv8000 CTO... Can anyone help me here?

You can still get them from Recovery-Disks.com. I've purchased two so far and both worked.

They run around $39.

Contact them. They say they have recovery discs for every computer.

Live chat or Phone

This site says it has the one you need: Rest0re Discs for $26.99.
