Connect Modem/Router and wireless G Adapter

I have modem/router working fine (Sagem 1704), need to get internet with USB Wireless G Adapter(Linksys)on second computer. I have connection but no internet. How do I identify same frequency or capatability?

What model Linksys adapter and computer please?
Did you install the adapter software before connecting the adapter to the computer, have you paired the device with the router and do you have a Network icon in the bottom right of your Taskbar?
