Please do not think I am being in any way unhelpful, but you say you are confused.

She has put this mouse on it and it has not had the issue so far. The issue was happening with my Razer Lachesis when I was using the computer so I am confused.

Well I am as well.

See this

I recommend you uninstall and then install the driver for that mouse that you were using the Razer Lachesis if the link does not stay on the selection I am sure you will easily find the one for the Windows7 It is for 64 or 32 bit and is dated 3 May 2011.

Good Luck, but it is well nigh impossible to diagnose the error and the cause when you do not now have it of course, having changed the mouse.

IF by chance I have misinterpreted what you are telling me please do NOT hesitate to correct me, . and I will of course continue - saying  apologetically.

Finally Happy New Year for 2012.

Sorry for the confusion. I can try to explain one quick time before we both go nuts =P.
I had the issue around the 18th when I had the computer. I was using my Lachesis and the HP keyboard.

On the 28th I got a new computer, and she has the iBuypower one now. I uninstalled all of the drivers/programs I was using before then.
She was initially using an Xtremegear mouse, and the HP keyboard. The issue occurred with that setup.

She removed the Xtremegear, and plugged in the old Microsoft mouse she was using on her old computer, and the issues seems to have stopped. Although I am not 100% certain it has stopped.

Well I have the situation, clear now I think.

The test is to use the Xtremegear mouse on another computer.- I feel sure.
If it fails on the other computer then we may I think reasonably presume it is the mouse, the cable or the lack of the proper software for it., although even then, whilst all functions may not be available it should function with the Windows generic mouse driver.

The other solution if it is OK on another computer is to go here
http://support.asus....5ktecSJbqQKaa0x

and try the offered downloads if they are NOT the version you have installed for the chipset drivers.
If you do decide to update the BIOS - although I doubt that is the problem - be CAREFUL follow the instructions exactly as of course a failed BIOS flash may render the computer unbootable.

The other option is to try the Xtremegear mouse with a usb to ps2 converter and see if it will work then. This is another way of testing the mouse itself. and of course the cable/connection.

I would also examine the amount of power being drawn on the usb sockets. Try unplugging some USB devices, using the safely remove hardware..

You could also try going device manager and on the usb entry - having disconnected the other usb devices uninstall the drivers for the usb root hubs and then reboot Windows will automatically reinstall the drivers.

I believe it not to be the mouse sadly now. I checked around noon today, and the Microsoft mouse and the HP keyboard both were powerless. I looked around and found an old USB > PS/2 dongle that we have, and put it on the mouse. So at this point it is a PS/2 Mouse, and a USB keyboard plugged in. If the issue occurs again and only the keyboard goes out that would mean it is the chipset drivers correct? If the PS/2 works correctly I could simply get a second USB > PS/2 dongle for the keyboard, and simply bypass the USB issue in theory?

I agree entirely now we have the error on that as well, your first approach is as outlined in my post.

Then if we still, have errors, we will have to look at the power situation to the usb hubs.
It MAYBE and I stress it is no stronger than that, that there is a power loss on demand from for instance the graphics, taking power from the usb hubs.

TRY as in my post - especially if you have an external usb hard drive powered only by usb
