Malwarebytes: cannot access it!

My problem started a few weeks ago when I noticed I could not access certain websites (ebay.com, realage.com among others). Doing a full scan with Microsoft Security Essentials and Defender turned up as negative. When I went to download, run and install Malwarebytes, i could download, run and install, but it doesn't actually install the program. The .exe file is saved on my desktop, but I can't actually run the program.

Suggestions, please?
