Outlook wont allow me to open Email links

I have a new computer and installed outlook 2010 and it will not allow me to open links. I use firefox as my browser - refuse to use IE. It is giving me an error message about general failure and that an error occured sending the command to my application. Any ideas?

Since Outlook 2010 is a Microsoft program, I think it may be an idea to try Internet Explorer to access it.

It seems "almost logical" from my view, as I only use I.E.8 on the XP and I.E.9 on the Windows7 computers.
What is wrong with Internet Explorer, as you seem to be using a Microsoft programmed computer ??
Maybe the problem is trying to use Mozilla, and what version of Firefox are you using ??
