Hi

The trackpad and left/right click buttons on my laptop (ASUS K72F) work fine up to the point when I need to log in to my user profile.

Once in, and Windows is working, they do not respond at all, except to bring the screen back when it has gone to sleep.

Does anybody know what is going on and how to resolve this problem?

Thanks

Guy

Hello there, Welcome To Geeks To Go

It sounds like the touchpad on your laptop is disabled. To resolve this issue you have to enable the touchpad.

You can do this by clicking on Start - Control Panel - Mouse - Device Settings

Just find the tab that has the synaptics logo. This is providing that you have installed their driver first. Even if you are using a generic compatible xp driver the enable option should be available.

Just click enable and your touchpad should work as normal.

Hope this helps.
