My husband, who is a huge music lover, was given someone's old iPod to replace his MP3 player. Now the default media player on my computer is Windows Media and most of the files (and we have thousands of them) are in WMA format - which don't transfer to his iPod. (The rest of us have more garden-variety MP3 players and don't have this problem.)

So, is there a freeware program that can turn the WMA files (most of which were ripped from CDs we own) into MP3s? What I found on C-NET was a mixed bag at best.

Thanks in advance for your help!

This free MP3 converter is a program that can help users convert MP3 files to many less used or well known extensions. While the MP3 and WAV file extensions are very well known, some programs and applications require OGG, M4A, WMA, ACC. or FLACC file extensions. For more details visit

There are lots of methods to convert WMA to MP3 nowadays. I used to use a powerful WMA to MP3 Converter to do this task.

Here is the guide to help you use this converter to convert WMA to MP3.

It also applies to convert WMA to WAV, AAC, AC3, M4A, etc.

Hi, you can also try this way:http://www.videoconv...wav-to-mp3.html

But I have to say, MP3 is compressed format and the quality of files will be damaged. With this method above, you can recude the damage as much as possible
