I was on the internet when a screen popped up named something like Windows Anti-Virus 2012". I have seen this before and tried to get off the internet immediately. That didn't work so I hard booted to get out. Too late. I ran Malwarebytes and found 4 trogans which I deleted. Now none of my applications will work. I get a screen that says either "application can't be found" or "choose a program you want to use to open this file". Since any application that I can think of to fix this is a .exe file I can't do anything. I am sending this message on my laptop computer. The afflicted computer is an HP desktop running Windows 7 Ultimate. I have looked at other threads similar to my problem and tried to follow the instructions for fixes but no luck.

Download OTL to your Desktop

• Double click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.
• Check the box that says Scan All Users.
• Click the Quick Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
  
• When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL.
• Please copy (Edit->Select All, Edit->Copy) the contents of these files, one at a time and post them in your topic.
