hi i jus needed help on:

there is a file that is recognised as being infected when i run AVG antivirus, its called "msdirectx.sys" no matter how many times i delete it, it always comes back, these are the probs i think being caused by this file

- machine hangs up
- Symantec crashes
- regedit and task manager closes immediately

Also i was trying to run "Hijack this" but as soon as the porgram opens it closes. I have tried to remove it by clearing the system restore histry and then delete but it hasn't worked. PLEASE HELP thankyou.

I have tried the solution on this website but it did not work for me http://www.antisourc...-msnt-msdirectx

Boot up with a boot disk.
At the "A:" prompt, type this pressing enter after each line.

del c:\windows\system32\msnt.exe

del c:\windows\system32\msdirectx.sys

If this is the wrong location, search for them and note down the location, and replace the lines I told you to delete.

I am closing this thread, as with the others. You need to stick to your thread in Malware Removal where Inspid is helping you. once you are free of Malware, you can have one of the Topics in THIS form re-opened if you still need help!.
