hello and welcome,

First I need to know your current PC specs, you might have installed so much programs yet your system can't handle such loads.

Secondly, your desktop might be too cluttered full of icons in it. Another is that some of the files are corrupted.

Lets try clearing up free space first, try CleanUp or CCleaner(needs reboot after cleaning). Then re-organize your icons, folders, do full system scandisk, then try disk defragment.

The fact there are only 11 programs in the Startup does not really mean a lot, it's what their doing. I'd try turning the ALL off and see if it boots faster, you will then get that possible cause out of the way. Don't go on the net untill you turn them back on, as you will be turning off Anti Virus and Firwall.

Download and install HijackThis to C:\HJT, then run.
  • (first time only), put a check on the box dont show this frame again when I start HijackThis
  • click None of the above, just start the program
  • go to config
  • go to Misc Tools
  • under startup list, click generate startup list log
  • confirm with yes, save that log and POST it here
  • close HijackThis
Lets check for some virus, have an On-line scan at this sites: Trend Micro or Panda Scan or Moosoft.
