So over the past week I was out of town and left my laptop with my sister. When I returned and tried to use it at startup I had several error messages that skype or msn messenger could not open Ive never had these before. I always look at my downloads/history when I leave it to her. She had downloaded frostwire which is virus free but then there is also a file named BOIE9_ENUS_WIN764 the size is 0 bytes. I just ignored it but then i tried to uninstall frostwire but it would not let me open it in control panel along with other things I cannot open. I also cant hear sound from internet pages such as youtube. I read a post on how to fix this in the registry but wavemapper was already there. Another problem is i cannot open my new antivirus that I downloaded. I have no clue whats wrong and hope you guys here at GTG can help.

Hello and welcome to Geekstogo!

We apologize for the delay in responding to your request for help.
If you have since resolved the original problem you were having, we would appreciate you letting us know. If not please perform the following steps below.

Download OTL to your Desktop
  • Double click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.
  • Check the box that says Scan All Users.
  • Click the Quick Scan button. Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
  • When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL.
  • Please copy (Edit->Select All, Edit->Copy) the contents of these files, one at a time and post them in your topic.
