If you have not already done so, I suggest you download the Mobo user manual, it may be more resent than the printed one in the retail box. The Sabertooth has many features and may take some time to master them.

Would a normal rubber mat, like the ones from a bathtub function like an antistatic mat?

That depends on the part. On the upgrade I just did I needed to buy some TIM and also a molex-sata power adapter(I was upgrading from using a 6 year old PSU though). The power supply should contain all the power cables. The drives should contain the data cables and the screws to mount them (unless they are OEM parts). Case should contain the screws to mount the motherboard. You will probably need to buy TIM(Thermal Paste). The CPU usually comes with a CPU fan and heat sink. Some don't think stock is good enough but I never had problems(I also don't overclock my system.)

I personally have never used a anti-static mat. Some sort of anti-static protection is good though. I would use a mat in a professional environment though.

A. The CPU comes with a stock heatsink and fan, it also has a pre applied TIM pad, you would get better temp performance by removing this and applying your own paste. Remove the pad with a fingernail or credit card, do not use anything metal. A. Everything you need will be supplied with the parts except the video card. You must check with the manufacturer to see what cables are included and if you need a different one to connect your Monitor, you must buy it.

A. No, it will insulate you from earth, ground. it is not the function you require, you need to be earthed. Your clothing would still generate and store static, when you touched a component, static would discharge from you to the computer part. Use an anti static strap and follow the enclosed instruction

Yes there was a problem, but its just that the delivery firm messed up so some parts have not arrived yet. Got my PSU here! But that rest i will get next week.
