Hello,

I have an erratic problem that I don't understand. Most of the time my system works fine. however, I sometimes see a problem where XP begins to boot, reaches the black screen with the colorful XP logo, then simply reboots. When this happens it acts as if I'd pressed the hardware restart button.

My disk check utilities don't report any problems and when I swap disks around and boot from another system the failing system shows up with no apparent errors. Once I restore the system using Norton Ghost, it boots fine.

Any ideas about what might cause this?

thanks...
