Just so you know - I installed the spyware blaster from here as soon as we fixed my system and I have it going full bore. No cookies - no messenger - you name it. I had done xp critical updates earlier the same day I was "attacked" by the trojan_agent. ae; as well as updated everything else. I'm a bit of a stickler about updates - so you can imagine my shock at infestation.

What happened I can't say for sure, but we had just moved into our new house and was finally able to connect on high speed; after 8 years of being stuck in dial-up [bleep]!!!!!

I run Symantec Antivirus Corp. Edition Gold with Live update and check for updates every couple of days. We use Verizon.

Not an half hour after being connected on broadband I got hit with a backdoor attacker that Symantec quickly caught and eradicated. I'm not sure if the troj_agent came in with it or what. I was doing political research on the web for an article I'm writing, and can't figure what happened.

I just hope it doesn't happen again. Either way, thank you - you're a life safer and hopefully I can get back to work in the am.

Also - I actually have the firefox downloaded, but I haven't installed it yet. My husband is giving me a hard time about changing browsers, so to keep the peace.... well you get my drift I'm sure. I downloaded it because the guys on techtv said it's a better browser. Now to convince my husband. hehehe <_<
