Hi,
Over the past few days I have noticed that one particular website, mypoints.com, will not load for me on my main desktop computer no matter which browser I attempt to access the website on.
I have tried IE (Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage), Google Chrome (Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to mypoints.com), Firefox (The connection has timed out), or Opera (Could not connect to remote server). Every other website I surf to loads up with no problem.
Thinking that Mypoints was down for a couple of days I thought nothing of it at first. When I couldn't access the site for a third day then I began to think something was wrong.
I then attempted to access the site using my ipad and was able to do so with no problem. I am using a Belkin N Wireless router for my internet access with my desktop being directly connected. My ipad uses the same network for internet access. For this reason I'm guessing there is something on my desktop computer preventing me from accessing mypoints.com for whatever reason.
Any help you can give me to solve this problem will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help.

try connecting to a banking site or any site that uses https
any site that has the s at the end of http are secure sites...
I have the code for xp but I'm not sure if it will work with vista or 7...
what OS are you using and 32 or 64 bit...

if you find you can't connect to other secure sites go here...scroll down and click on fix it button

Can you connect to http://216.225.24.50 (that's mypoints.com IP address)?

Is yes then you have a DNS problem, give OpenDNS a try or try ipconfig /flushdns from an elevated Command Prompt.

I am not able to connect to http://216.225.24.50 using any browser I have.

try turning windows firewall off then try the site again...
nojoy...
turn the firewall back on and run The System File Checker

Click Start...All programs...Accessories...Right Click Command Prompt...Run as administrator
click on Continue...type in sfc /scannow...press Enter...

If any files require replacing SFC will replace them...After the scan is done... Close the command prompt window.

Also check your hosts file from an Elevated Command Prompt. See if it has an entry for the web site, URL or IP.

The site still would not load after turning off windows firewall.Also after scanning from the command prompt, "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."

Uncheck the Use proxy server box if checked.

The Use Proxy Server box was not checked when I looked.

Turn off Microsoft Security Essentials real time protection.

Double click on the taskbar icon.
Click on Settings then Real-time protection.
Uncheck Turn on Real-time protection.

MSE will turn red.

Try the web site now.

Turn RTP back on after the test.
