Hello: I have Windows 7, 64 bit system. In my task manager all the files have a *32 designation after the file name. I've done some searching and can't seem to find out what this is-can someone help me? Thanks!

"All" of the files? Or just many of them?

Because most 32-bit programs run just fine in a 64-bit operating system, many developers only make the 32-bit version. So it is common to see quite a few *32 files in Task Manager.

Scroll down the list until you see explorer.exe (NOT iexplorer.exe). If explorer.exe (which is the main Windows desktop environment) does not have *32 next to it, you are running in 64-bit mode and all is okay.

Thank you so much! The explorer.exe did not have *32 after it, glad for the explanation. Much appreciated. :)
