Hello Guys,

Making my first gaming pc and I have speced out the components that I think would work well together.
Was just hoping for a little advice on people see any problems on what I plan to buy and also if the price seems right. Very new to this all.

Intel i7 2600k 3.4ghz 164.60
Asus P8P67 Pro Rev 3.1 Socket 1155 ATX 121.53
Corsair vengence 16gb ddr3 1600mhz 69.99
Corsair 120gb Force 3 SSD 2.5@ sata 3 124.98
Samsung 2Tb eco green sata3 32mb 109.99
sapphire radeon hd 6950 2gb gddr5 (two of them) 269.54 (for both)
codemaster elite 430 black mid tower 39.87
powercool 850watt 6xsata 2xpciE 57.38
120mm blue led fans 4 pin molex (two) 5.28 (for both)
samsung 12x bd rom/ dvd rw lightscribe sata 43.99
windows 7 home premium 64bit 71.14

1078.29

Pretty sure the GPU and CPU are ok together as it seems pretty popular on alot of the premade gaming machines, but I dont know if the rest of the stuff will work. Any advice you guys can offer would be great.

Thanks

Where are you purchasing the parts from?
I have added a couple of pointers to your list of components

Hello Guys,

Choose a CPU that is on the MBs QVL (qualified vendors list) which means it has been tested and approved.
Asus P8P67 Pro Rev 3.1 Socket 1155 ATX 121.53
Go for a Z68 platform MB for the better upgrade potential which may include pci-e 3.0 and Ivy Bridge CPU support.
Corsair vengence 16gb ddr3 1600mhz 69.99
Same advice as for the CPU.
Corsair 120gb Force 3 SSD 2.5@ sata 3 124.98
Samsung 2Tb eco green sata3 32mb 109.99
sapphire radeon hd 6950 2gb gddr5 (two of them) 269.54 (for both)
codemaster elite 430 black mid tower 39.87
powercool 850watt 6xsata 2xpciE 57.38
The PSU is not trusted to be used as a doorstop, you will not get a good quality 850W PSU for that price and especially not a modular one, for brands to trust and brands to avoid see http://www.10stripe.com/featured/psu/brand.php and http://forum.pcmech....ide-inside.html
120mm blue led fans 4 pin molex (two) 5.28 (for both)
