Error 1719 Office 64-bit components 2010

Hi,

I am having trouble opening office programs and also updating my version of iTunes as I keep getting an error relating to windows installer.

When i open office the following error message is displayed: Error 1719: The Windows Installer Service could not be accessed. This can occur if the Windows Installer is not coreectly installed. Contact your support personnel for assistance.

I have had my hp Pavillion dv3 for roughly 2 years now and have had the 2010 version of offie for about a year. Itunes and office stopped working a few months ago.

I have tries several solutions suggested on other forums but nothing has worked.

Please help... many thanks.
