Java Console is disabled automatically when you updated Firefox to version 8. You can leave this Add-on disabled for now.

The strange thing is that you only have one Add-one enabled and it's tool bar... Please try to disable it and restart your browser.

I now have it disabled. I will try to work with it like this and see if the problems are still evident. One thing I have been meaning to ask, do you think I should remove and re-install Firefox?

Yes you should. There is new version Firefox 9.0.1. You can do this after you do this testing. Uninstall your current Firefox and download new one from Here.

Ok, thank you.....I did not know there was a new version. I am still running with the Yahoo add on disabled. If you don't mind, I'd like to continue to do this for at least another day so as to keep a close eye on things and see if any symptoms arise. I will report back when ready and then dl the new Firefox upon your go ahead. Will be back in touch. Thanks.

Yes, testing is over and for the first few hours it seemed ok, the "Not Responding" msg still appeared again. I will dl and install the newest Firefox and report back when completed. Just to make sure I'm correct here, I should remove the old Firefox first, then dl newest correct??? Thanks.

You can start your Firefox and from Help menu select About Firefox. Press Check for update button and it will update your Firefox automatically.

If that fails then download new Firefox and start installing. It will guide you through installation.

Ok, Firefox has now been updated. It shows Firefox 10.0 and says it is currently up to date. I did not go back and enable any add ons yet......thought I would wait until instructed to do so. I did show that Norton (which is who I run for virus/security) toolbar is not compatable with Firefox 10.0. This doe not bother me as I do not use the Norton toolbar anyway. Will wait to hear from you with further instructions as to where to go next. Thank you!

Hi edselguy,

That's it! Leave that Add-on disabled as it's not important. You can click on Remove button to remove it completely.

Your logs and system are clean now. I'm glad we fix up your computer. We need to clean up your PC from programs we used.

Step 1

Please start OTL one more time and click CleanUp button. OTL will restart your system at the end. Remove all other application we used to clean your PC.

General recommendations

Here are some recommendations you should follow to minimize infection risk in the future:

1. Enable Windows Update
  • Click Start, click Run, type sysdm.cpl, and then press ENTER.
  • Click the Automatic Updates tab, and then click to select one of the following options. We recommend that you select the Automatic (recommended) Automatically download recommended updates for my computer and install them option.
  • Click OK button

2. Delete Temp files

Download TFC to your desktop
  • Open the file and close any other windows.
  • It will close all programs itself when run, make sure to let it run uninterrupted.
  • Click the Start button to begin the process. The program should not take long to finish its job
  • Once its finished it should reboot your machine, if not, do this yourself to ensure a complete clean

3. Make Backups of Important Files

Please read this article Home Computer Data Backup.

4. Regularly update your software

To eliminate design flaws and security vulnerabilities, all software needs to be updated to the latest version or the vendor’s patch installed.

You should download Update Checker from here. The program will automaticly check for newer version of software installed on your system.

I taught that we fix firefox problem.... Can you try to disable add-on on your new firefox again and try to use it.

Let's try these steps to speed your system a little.

Step 1

Startuplite is a tool to help you stop some programs not needed when you start your computer from loading. They will begin automatically only when needed.

Run the tool and it will disable all unnecessary sturtup entries.
Click on Continue button to save changes.

Step 2

Download and run Puran Disc Defragmenter
Click on Boot Time Defrag button and choose Restart-Defrag-Restart
