Hello,

I have a Dell Inspiron 1501 laptop with a broken dvd rom . It loads Windows XP just fine but up till a point when i used to type my password. After that it goes black(the screen) and the only thing that appears is the mouse coursor (which i can moove).I made a bootable sd card with win2flash software but it doesn't work. Any ideas on how could i make it work again?
I am not sure if i can boot from sd card but my bios has the following boot menu : Removable Devices ' USB Storage' CD-Rom drive ' Hard Drive ' Broadcom PXE . so i should be able to boot from 2GB sd card.

PS I removed the battery and put it back on and i also cleaned the ram and the switched the ram and cleaned the inside of the laptop with air spray.
