Hello,

Whatever I seem to do, I can't install IE9 on my Windows 7 64bit laptop. It fails in Windows Update, as well when I download the installer by itself. I have tried as many solutions through Google as I could find, and I have had no luck. Im coming here hoping that one of y'all will be able to help me.

Thanks ahead of time!

Hello,

Unfortunately that link only stated installation issues in Windows Server 2008, and I am running Windows 7.

It did mention that IE9 installs as an update, and I checked to see if it was installed just to be safe, and it wasn't.

It says that IE8 is not downloadable for Windows 7. Only Vista and XP.

Update: Noticed that IE was disabled so I enabled the checkbox for IE9 and restarted my computer. IE8 was now installed and when I tried to update via WU I got an error.

It does as a system requirement though, I dont see a download link. It just appears to be a release notes page.

My apologies, I thought you were referring to a downlong link in the actual article, not in the website header.

For IE8, there is no Win7 download link that I can see. There is no option in the dropdown menu, and it says this on the downloads page.

Internet Explorer 8 is available for public download today in 25 languages for Windows Vista, Windows XP, and Windows Server customers.

I did download the IE9 installer though and tried installing it thourgh Safe Mode which seemed to work. Thanks again for your help.

Yes. Installing from Safe Mode did the trick.
