Ive noticed extreme quantities of people that come here for help are having trouble with this program? Where is everyone getting this Aurora and Nail.exe stuff?

I don't remember where one gets these things but if someone would like to post the link below we can all get reinfected, no joking apart, one of the tools I have seen on this forum is a program that lists and warns about many dubious sites, one downloads it and then when ones is surfing one avoids landing on them. I will see if I can find that program for you but if someone else is reading this and has it please post below.

I was infected with the aurora/180search package by either downloading divdx dvd decoder, or (and I suspect this more) the mIRC.exe file from the mIRC websites NYC mirror.

I had a fresh instal of XP and those are the only two peices of software I downloaded.

From the scanning of the web, the trouble started primarily on July 30th.

The natureof the origin of these infections is complex. There are several vectors employed, including (but not limited to) infected Bitorrents, aim links, free smileys, download accelerators.... and the list goes on. For an entertaining read, have a look at Paperghosts site,
