On my previous computer, I was suddenly finding my MP3s corrupted. I thought it was a virus. So I deleted all the files, found them elsewhere or pulled them again from my CDs and replaced them.

The problem was gone. Until just a couple of weeks ago.

I did a search and found this article:
http://www.techno360...ruption-issues/

Recommending this fix:
http://www.microsoft...&displaylang=en

But the fix is for Win7 Beta and an earlier version WMP.

Anyone know of a fix for WMP 12 and/or for a fully updated Win7?

Obviously, the best fix is to no longer use WMP for MP3s, which I've now done.
(I hate WinAmp and most of the more-popular alternatives and only just recently discovered Quintessential Media Plater.)

Turns out this was a KNOWN issue with WMP. Anytime WMP looked online for information connected to an MP3, it would corrupt the MP3 file. I believe WinAmp, however, has the same issue...b/c I'd virtually stopped using WMP altogether by the time I'd posted the original post.
