Hi , Im new here..

Few days ago ive been getting several popups all from Aurora.

In msconfig theres a new item in there called.. Aeax.exe Ive done searches on it nothing came up. I've tried unchecking it still appears to come on. Ive read some posts about this problem. I think it has to do with Nail.exe and possible this Aeax.exe.. Heres my HJT Log. Thanks for any help.

Btw, Ewido picks up virus/spyware but doesnt seem to clean it.. Step by step would be helpful in removing this.. Thanks.

Hello and welcome to GeeksToGo! My name is Kat, and I will be helping you get your pc up and running properly again! Please either print these instructions, or save them to a Notepad file on your desktop. Part of the fix will require you to be in safe mode, and you will not be able to access the internet at that time!

1. First I need you to download a couple of programs for use later in the fix:
  • Please download the Killbox.
    Unzip it to the desktop but do NOT run it yet.
  • Please download CleanUp!
  • Please download "Del Domain" from here
  • Please download Nailfix from here
    Unzip it to the desktop but please do NOT run it yet.
2. Reboot into Safe Mode by continually tapping the F8 key as the computer begins to start up. You will be taken to a screen that will allow you to choose to enter Safe Mode.

3. Double-click on Nailfix.cmd. Your desktop and icons will disappear and reappear, and a window should open and close very quickly --- this is normal.

4. Please re-open HiJackThis and scan. Check the boxes next to all the entries listed below.

Now close all windows other than HiJackThis, then click Fix Checked.

5. Please double click to open Killbox.
Select "Delete on Reboot".
Open the text file with these instructions in it, and copy the file names below to the clipboard by highlighting them and pressing Control-C:

C:\WINDOWS\System32\WinStat11.dll

Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose "Paste from Clipboard".
Click the red-and-white "Delete File" button. Click "Yes" at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click "No" at the Pending Operations prompt.

6. After you Reboot normally into windows, please locate the DelDomains on your desktop. Extract the .inf file from the .zip file you just downloaded. Now right click "Deldomains.inf" and click "Install". It will not appear to have done anything, thats ok.

7. Locate the CleanUp program you downloaded earlier. Double click it to run, Click the CleanUp button, and let it scan and select any files it needs to remove. Once it is done, exit the program.

8. Please make a reply here after you have done the above steps, and post a fresh HijackThis log, and let me know how things are running now! :tazz: also... you mentioned that Ewido finds things but doesn't clean them. Can you please run Ewido before you reply here. Either save a log and paste it to me from Ewido, or write down the exact file path (such as C:\...) and name of anything that it can't clean!

Hi Kat, and thanks for your reply. Im pretty sure I followed everything right.. Although things seem to open really slow. Im not quite sure if it's caused by the same problem.. or something is tryin to open. IE My Computer every time I double click it and go into it , It acts like it's still tryin to search.
Ewido did in fact clean everything out.. I didn't make a log. I tried scanning with that and Even ran AVG. It came up with no finds. Also I ran spybot search and destroy there was no finds. Heres my fresh copy of HJT Log. Thanks.

Just a couple of more things. Open HJT and click scan. Check this entry and fix it:
R3 - Default URLSearchHook is missing

Then find the following file and delete it:
C:\WINDOWS\web\related.htm



You have Spybot, so I want you to open it, and at the top click "mode" then "Advanced". On the left, choose "Tool" then "System Startup" Give me a list of everything that DOES have a checkmark next to it please!

Also

Open HijackThis, click Config, click Misc Tools
Click "Open Uninstall Manager"
Click "Save List" (generates uninstall_list.txt)
Click Save, copy and paste the results in your next post.

Let me see both of those, and I'll help you get things sped back up!
