trying to hook my computer up to a projector

I need to install a Sil 164 Carrera ADD CARD into a dell DCCY1F type:09247
but im finding that the card it needs to plug into doesn't align properly, its off by about 2CM and it didoes seem to unplug(at least not easily) so is there anything i can do to get the plugs to align, or is it a lost cause?
