i have centurylink hi speed and with it came norton 360. i went to upgrade my service and the installer was prompting me to install 2012 norton. i ran the installer and it said i had to remove old norton versions and then i could load the new. i went to control panel and to add and remove software and tried to uninstall and it wont let me. when i click on uninstall it just gives me the little blue circle for 1 second and then doesnt do anything. i went to the start programs menu and clicked on 360 and clicked uninstall and nothing.all my troubles stared the other day when i installed a free video converter.it was acting hinky so i removed it.what can i do to get this crap outta my machine.
thanks,radar :help:

Hi dudeski, :welcome:

Do you have administrator privileges on your account? If you don't, that's why you can't uninstall Norton 360. If you do, you can contact centurylink and see if there is a special uninstaller that they provide for the Norton 360 that come from them. Or you can use the Norton Removal Tool Link

But if your problems didn't start until you downloaded a free program, it's possible that you got more than you bargained for and the free program included a hitchhiker (virus).
If you want to eliminate that possibility you can go to the Virus,Spyware,Malware Removal forum, click the Malware and Spyware Cleaning Guide
Please read BEFORE starting a new topic
and follow the directions there to post your problem.

Good luck!
