This morning my AVG spyware said I had a malware threat which I moved to the virus vault and rebooted the computer. Now I can't get into any Google site. I can't check my Google calendar or Gmail. It redirects me to a Verizon site (I have Verizon DSL) that states that www.google.com can not be found. I tried my wife's laptop and she can get it on hers as can my daughter on her laptop. So it seems to be just mine. After researcheing the problem through another search engine I started trying diferent things with no good results. Here is what I have so far...

I can ping www.google with no problems.
My host file is empty
If I enter the google isp numbers I got off one website it will pull up Google, allow me to sign in and I can access my gmail. When I click on the calendar icon from this page it drops Google again.
I have cleared all cookies
The problem is with both Firefox (my usual browser) and IE
I have checked security settings and even allowed google.com

My thought is that the malware did something to the browsers to make it block Google, but I don't know. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I suspect that you have some malware on your computer causing issues that we are not able to solve through means we can use here in the Tech Forums. I suggest you read the 'Start Here' topic found HERE. With these self-help tools you have a high chance of fixing the problems on your own. If you are still having problems after following Step 3 of the guide, continue with Step 4 and 5 and post in the Malware Forum. If you are unable to run any programs, Please create a topic stating what you have tried so far and that you are unable to run any programs. Also, Please do NOT post the logs in this thread.

If you are still having issues after the malware expert gives you a clean bill of health, Please return to THIS thread and we will pursue other options to help you solve your current problem(s).
