pdf files not opening - help for strange problem

I had downloaded several pdf files from a website but whenever i try to open them i get the following message...

"the files are damaged and cannot be repaired"

but other friends of mine are able to open the same after downloading from the same website...

plz help.........

I am using windows xp home edition...and adobe reader 7 and internet explorer 6

Which version of Adobe, which site and which files are you trying to open

its adobe reader 7....

the files are pdf files...

there are many sites...many of them...

Click help in Adobe then detect and repair, or reinstall Adobe 7 and get the update to 7.01

still not working...

Hi sunandoghosh

Have you tried to download the same file again, but try to save the file in a different location, sometimes the file can be corrupted from who knows what on the big pipe. :tazz:

Second thing to test is your reader program. See if one of your friends will burn the file to cd, and see if you can read it on your cp.

i did download again and still its not getting opened....

totally frustrated i am now :tazz: ;) ;)
