OK I got up to the step of the antivirus ... I installed Microsoft Security Essentials .. a few minutes later I got the blue screen again :( Heres a pic ....

Has this happened only once or has it repeated?


Step 1.

Please tap the up or down cursor keys to stop the screen where the selection of the reocovery console is located.
Select Windows Recovery Console then hit ENTER
Under which Windows installation? Type 1 then hit ENTER
At the prompt type chkdsk /r then hit ENTER Note: there is a single space between chkdsk and /r.


Once it completes reboot the computer into normal mode and let me know the status.

This is the first time since the last time .... I shut down the computer because I had to run out for AAA .. had a flat grrr .. I rebooted and it booted fine.

I dont understand what you mean by step 1 .. where do I tap too?? The computer is on the desk top now

If you can boot into Normal mode do this:
